A Very Good K9

When I was at the end of my rope with my dogs new aggressive behaviors, Austin and Haley took the reins and showed their commitment and dedication to helping rehabilitate him to ensure the safety of all three of us, with their 6 week board and train program. We received updates daily or every other day to see our happy goofy boy showing up and showing his new tricks. Haley and Austin took the time to do personal check ins with both me and my husband to ensure our comfort and to help us understand and be the best owners we can be. Our dog has improved SO much but remains his goofy playful self. They are committed to him and to us for as long as we need. We couldn’t be more thankful because of them, the three of us were able to remain a family -The Sabos 🤍

I started looking into training when my maltipoo George was about 5 months old. I had put a lot of time into trying to train him myself, but there were some behaviors that I was not able to correct and I was actually making them worse. George is the cutest little thing, but when he wasn’t getting constant attention, he would loudly bark and become destructive. I work from home so I am able to take him out to play frequently throughout the day, but when I would be on a work call he would bark loudly at me or find something to destroy. It didn’t matter how much I puppy proofed or how much exercise he got. I tried so many of the interactive dog toys on the market thinking that would help keep his mind busy when I was occupied with work. The interactive toys would only occupy him for 5 minutes tops. Additionally he also had a habit of getting very aggressive when we would play (growling, biting ankles, jumping up and biting the sleeve of my shirt/jacket). I could tell he wasn’t intending to be mean, he would just get overly excited. He also had very bad separation anxiety and it was so hard for me to give him the tough love he needed to overcome it. There were a handful of other concerns I had as well. I started asking around for recommendations and A Very Good K9 was highly recommended. Originally, the thought of a 4-week board and train made me so sad. It was hard to imagine not having George here with me for that long, but the owners/trainers Haylee and Austin made the whole process so much easier. Austin was so good about answering all of my questions prior to sending George. I was able to go over all my concerns and I was so impressed. Not only could I tell they had A LOT of experience, I really got the impression that they were going to customize the training for George’s specific behaviors. THEY DEFINITELY DELIVERED!! I’m not going to lie, the 4 weeks were so hard, but their communication with me was amazing. I got frequent updates and videos from Austin and Hayley about George and the progress he was making. It was such a relief to see how happy and comfortable George was with them, and the progress videos were so fun to watch. When George came home we did our turnover lesson with Austin. He gave me all the tools (and the confidence) to maintain the training they had done. It’s been about 3 months since George has been home and words can’t express what a positive difference the board and train made in our lives. I am so incredibly thankful and I would recommend the 4-week board program to anyone that has concerns about their dog’s behavior.
