We had a family trip out of the area and left our 2-yr old Lab with Dewayne for 4-weeks and WOW what a difference! We had a good pre-meeting to go over our concerns (anxiety/aggression; meeting guests at the front door; and general behavior) and goals and felt totally comfortable leaving our pup behind. Dewayne kept us updated throughout our trip on our pet’s progress, asked questions to help address what he was working on and answered all our questions. He and his family even sent regular pictures and videos throughout to show us her progress, which was awesome to see! Our pup was so well behaved by the time we got back, her engrained behavior was reminding and training us to follow her new routines! We absolutely recommend AnchorUp K9 Academy and will definitely use Dewayne’s services again!

Dwayne was very professional and compassionate both on my initial call and for the in-person evaluation. Like other dog owners, my fur ball is family not just a pet. So I made a point to speak frankly and emotionally regarding our concerns, Dwayne listened without complaint and was able to schedule the evaluation in the next few days. During the evaluation he took his time answering all of my families questions and listening again to all of our input (before, during, and after). Never did we feel rushed. Dwayne exhibited substantial knowledge with dogs. Including verbal, signal, leash and remote training. As well as breeds and their characteristics.

Dewayne is a wonderful trainer!! We have a 9 month old bullmastiff puppy and a 6 year old super hyper and anxiety driven boxer. We hired him to set us on a path of success for our bullmastiff puppy and also learned many tools to address the anxiety in our boxer in the process. I love Dewayne’s gentle approach to training where building the bond with your fur baby and making training fun is the most important thing! AND IT WORKS!! For the first time ever, we are able to walk both dogs without them pulling and acting like idiots when seeing other dogs and I can take the puppy to public places and she will calmly lay by my side even if other animals are around. It’s such a relief to have a well behaved dog! I highly recommend him to anyone seeking to build a lasting relationship of mutual respect with their fur baby. We finished our sessions with our puppy, but I fully intend to continue to use Dewayne to work through six years of not knowing the proper way to address my boxers anxiety. Thank you Dewayne!!! When we adopted Honey (Anatolian shepherd mix) at 5 months old, she was scared, timid and incredibly shy. Once she came out of her shell a bit she showed us her “wild” side! Our trainer DeWayne was soooo good with her and taught my husband and I ALOT as well. We have had dogs all our lives but didn’t realize there was a lot more to training than basic commands. I never knew that I would need to teach my dog how to play and what the rules of each game was. I will tell you, she is incredibly intelligent, sweet, gentle and now… she is a confident and happy girl. It’s amazing how far she has come in the past few months with training. I HIGHLY recommend going through Anchor Up K9 Academy!!!!
