Blackbelt Retrievers

I brought my 4 year old chocolate lab to Blackbelt Retrievers for obedience training. After looking at the plethora of training places in Alabama, their reviews of success on training criteria led me to sending him there. The trainer Mark was very open about how the training would go, what would be expected of my dog, and what the dog would expect of me afterwards. My lab has some separation anxiety being away from us. Mark took the time to get him as comfortable as he could so that he would be receptive to the training. He updated us with videos throughout his training on what they were doing and how my dog was doing. When we got there to pick him up, he took the time to show us what all our dog had learned, and then trained us on how to train our dog. We are grateful for them and will be sending any dogs we have in the future for them for their training. We appreciate the great experience!

After we lost a beloved dog in a tragic accident, Blackbelt Retrievers helped us find the perfect dog for our family—our sweet Shug. Shug was trained and raised at Blackbelt Retrievers, and it truly shows. She is exceptionally well trained, obedient, and easy to handle, but what makes her even more special is her temperament. She is gentle, loving, happy, and truly the sweetest dog. We are beyond grateful for the experience we had with Blackbelt Retrievers and the care they put into the dogs they train. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

I’m very grateful for Mark & Brandon and the rest of the staff. Before we had our dog in their obedience program we weren’t able to do anything. Things as simple as walk were almost impossible. In the house our dog was a complete disaster. After completing the obedience training life has been so much better for my family and for the dog. I’m now able to take him out in public and trust he won’t act like a wild animal. We’ve been able to go on long walks without him ripping my shoulder out of socket! Before the program our dog wouldn’t listen to anything and the improvement we’ve seen in his obedience is shocking. I would highly recommend Black Belt Retrievers!
