Boss K9

We connected with Boss K9 after a challenging experience with another trainer. From our first conversation with Anna, it was clear that Boss K9 care deeply about what they do. Fig (our dog) struggled with severe anxiety and reactivity. He had challenges meeting new people, going to new places, and even going for walks. Fig did a 4-week board & train for all of those concerns. When he came back home, he had improved so much! They gave Fig the confidence to trust himself & us, and taught us how best to communicate with Fig! We took him to meet family & friends, and every single one commented on how much of a change they noticed from before & after training. And it didn't stop with the board & train! We had several follow-up visits so far, and have more to come to ensure that we are continuing to reinforce the right behaviors and to fine tune our communication with Fig. Anna even drove to my apartment so she could see one of Fig's behaviors in the environment where it was occurring! He walks by our side without problem when we ask him to on walks, he meets new people with excitement & joy, and we can clearly communicate with him when it is time for fun so he can really enjoy himself! They have a tremendous support from their growing community of dog owners for good reason. I fully recommend them for any training needs - simple or complex. I am so thankful to Boss K9 for all they have done for us & Fig, and for so many others.

Here a year later to say these people are LIFE SAVERS! We were ready to give up on a Golden who was completely neurotic and we could not handle. The only way to control him was to seek professional help and I am so beyond grateful we found Boss K9. Although they reminded us no dog will ever be perfect (especially coming from where we were starting) we are here a year later absolutely loving our dogs behavior and sometimes even forget how he used to be. With their style of training it was easy to keep up with at home just after a short 3 week boarding we were able to take it from there. And a year down the road nothing has changed, he’s only gotten better. He listens so well and we can control him in almost any environment which is something I could’ve never imagined doing with this dog. We can’t imagine life without him and I owe it ALL to Boss K9 that they let us enjoy this lifetime with him. Whether your dog is extremely bad or just needs a little work, GO SEE THEM. Boss K9 is fantastic and I can't recommend them enough. Anna and her team were extremely responsive and helpful throughout our time with them, from setting the initial appointment to our 2 week board and train to follow up visits, including coming to our house to see how our dog behaved walking in our neighborhood so they could give specific, real life instruction (we live 30 min from their facility). It truly shows how much they care for your dog and they personalize the instruction to fit your dogs disposition and your capabilities. It is not a one size fits all training. They are realistic about the time and effort you and your family are able to give to the training and tailor solutions to fit your needs. They are loving and patient with the dogs, while providing the firm and consistent instruction necessary to get the most out of your pup. Our dog came home from training a new animal and the discipline instilled in her at Boss K9 also made her a happier dog.

We have a 2 year old golden retriever who has a very calm temperament, and decided she needed a friend. Lucy is almost a year old now, and has definitely challenged us in ways we never imagined! Lucy is very exuberant- especially when it comes to food. Discouraging her from counter-surfing is still a work in progress, but she is able to do a bed stay during food prep and mealtimes. She also walks on a leash like a dream, and has mastered “wait,” “down,” “sit,” and “out.” Anna and her staff are patient and gentle yet firm with canine and human clients. They are clearly very passionate about what they do and their love for dogs is abundantly apparent. We did a 3 week board-and-train for Lucy, with a brush up stay, and did basic command training for our other dog in 6 at-home sessions, and it was the best investment in our relationship with our dogs that we could have made. The balanced training method works wonders; it does require consistency from the pet owner to really be effective in the long term.

Anna and the crew at Boss K9 saved my sanity and relationship with my dog and partner. LITERALLY. Everyone at Boss K9 has a true passion for what they do, and it shows in the rehabilitation of the dogs that leave there. I tell everyone I know that putting our German Shepherd through a 4 week board and train was THE BEST decision I could have made. When we brought Kimber to Anna, he was people/dog reactive, not confident in his environment(s), lacked structure, and only listened when he wanted to - and they completely transformed him. We constantly get compliments in public regarding his great behavior and ability to heal right by our side on a leash. I’ve had people stop me and ask where we took him to get trained. That is how AMAZING Anna and Boss K9 are. While in their hands, they communicated weekly with us on Kimber’s progress. And it was always a plus when we got a photo or video or him in action.
