Dori Dog Training

Our nine month old German Shepherd just completed a Board and Train Program at Dori Dog Training. We were really hesitant with leaving Luna anywhere due to her anxiety and her attachment to me. She gets scared really easily and we were concerned that the training wouldn't work for her. However, to our surprise, she is SUCH a different dog. She is easy to walk, she listens, she doesn't try to eat off of our plates, and she is so gentle with our one-year-old daughter. Our family could not thank Dori enough for helping us with Luna! Highly recommend.

I cannot speak highly enough about Dori and the work that he does. It takes someone truly special to care for and train dogs, especially ones like my dog Maverick. Mav had what we called "quirks". Everything we did had to be modified because Mav did not like new things, people, or situations. We actually got to the point where he had to limit house guests because we didn’t know how he was going to react. We couldn’t trust Maverick’s decision making. After one specific incident we knew we had to do something and get Mav some extra help! Every dog parent, I’m sure, is extremely apprehensive about sending their dog away for 6 weeks (I sure was!), but Dori made it seem like it was not a big deal at all. After meeting him I could tell he was going to care for Maverick just as I do. Dori treated Mav like his own. It made me so happy to see him out and about doing things in Lock Haven just as we would do as a family. Mav has been home for about a month now and our house is completely different. I never knew what having a calm dog was like until now. Every day Mav surprises me. The confidence Dori helped him gain has allowed him to learn to make better choices and see that not all new things are bad. Prior to Mav working with Dori I could barely take him on a quiet walk. We are now going on leash-less runs at a busy park and there is no more barking EVER! Like I said, I cannot say enough about this man! He is amazing at what he does! I would recommend him to anyone!

Highly recommend Dori Dog training for anyone looking for any sort of dog training. Back in April 2020 my boyfriend and I adopted a dog without any direction of manors and dog aggression. After speaking with some local people they recommended Dori Dog training, who will now be our forever trainer. Our dog went through a 1 week board and train program directly from the shelter (best decision we made). We were given updates daily, and once she was done with the week of board and train we were completely blown away with the progress she made in such little time. We now continue to take her to daycare through Dori Dog Training which is great because it helps her with her socialization! Dori is always so flexible, and truly looks out for what is best for the dog and the parents. He has never steered us wrong, and I am confident when I say that Dori truly treats our dog like one of his own. We will be continuing more training this year and we are very eager to see our dog grow with the help from Dori.

We give our highest praise and unconditional recommendation for Dori Dog Training. We dropped off our 1 year old lab for a 3 week board and train and she came back to us calmer, disciplined, more relaxed and happy. During training we received frequent updates, photos and videos. The whole process was well explained ahead of time and all went exactly as promised. When we visited before training, it was immediately clear that Shlomi loves dogs, and was going to treat our Freya with kindness and attention. He listened carefully to our problems and training goals, and the program was tailored to our needs. Twice during the board and train we visited so we too could be trained and practice directing our dog's behavior. Shlomi brought Freya back to our home and even made a follow up visit to be sure we understood all techniques and behaviors. He helped Freya with loose lead walking, greeting people and animals, and coexisting calmly with cats in our home. Here are some specifics of the training we learned: Basic commands, sit, stay, down, release, crate, place, recall, and correction. A professionally fit prong collar helped with structured walk and heel. A high quality US made e-collar was effective with behaviors, in particular long-distance off leash recall. We are so thankful to Dori Dog Training for giving us a happy and loving relationship with our dog!
