Follow My Lead Dog Training

We took our 7 month old to Follow my Lead for a 1 week board and train and my only regret is not doing this sooner! They helped us gain control over our puppy who was pulling us when he walked and is now so good staying in "place" when out in public. Training your dog is not an easy task and the team is very knowledgeable. We were scared of using a prong collar before this training but are so happy now that we know how to properly use it with our pup!

We cannot say enough great things about Follow My Lead Dog Training. Ray was absolutely fantastic and just what we needed for our 6 month old Mini Bernedoodle, Teddy. Originally we wanted to sign up for Ray's Board and Train 7 day program but Ray took the time to make sure he got every single detail about our puppy before moving forward and suggested we do 5 private training sessions instead. The reason being because our dog gets very nervous and has anxiety when meeting new people as well as from miscellaneous objects like trash cans, especially during our walks. Ray said it would be easier to have us drop Teddy off at his facility for the 7 Day board and train program rather than coming to our place in Charlestown but based on his evaluation of Teddy, he thought it was in Teddy's best interest to engage him with his surroundings where we live by doing 5 private sessions which was half the price of the 7 Day Program. Honestly, that's when I knew Ray was going to be awesome and helped give us the best price value compared to other dog training services we spoke with prior to connecting with Ray who wanted to get as much money as they could for their service. After a few weeks and 5 training sessions later, we have seen a huge change in Teddy's demeanor as well as a huge confidence boost thanks to Ray's detail and efforts. As a result, we even let Teddy go off leash on a 4 mile hike in New Hampshire a couple of days after his last session with Ray and he was an absolute rock star. Being able to see Teddy grow compared to his state during his first training session was simply amazing. It didn't happen overnight but Rays training techniques were truly helpful and he always gave us homework to work on in between each session to make sure we were practicing consistently. A couple weeks later after completing all 5 of our sessions, Ray went out of his way to swing by our house to check in on Teddy as well as give him some treats, that's how much he cares about each one of his clients! We can't thank Ray and his team enough for everything they did and highly recommend his services no matter what dog breed you may have, he's simply seen it all and is there with you each step of the way! We’ve had such a fantastic experience with Ray and his team at Follow My Lead! I can’t recommend them enough. We set up a consultation and from there we decided to go with the suggested package of one-on-one training sessions for our large dog who at the time we couldn’t walk on a leash, especially past other dogs. Our dog improved within just our first session and loved working with his trainers. He’s become such a well behaved dog it’s shocking and the training methods we were taught have helped us understand how to continue training him and teach him new things in a way that he understands. We also have done boarding at the facility as well as in-home visits while we were away, and we felt comfortable knowing our dog was in such great hands. Truly so lucky to have found such fantastic trainers!!

This review has been long pending. We had our Australian Labradoodle train with Ray for a couple of weeks when he was just a puppy. Labradoodles tend to have mind of their own but Ray trained him really well. We left him with Ray again for a few days while we were on vacation last year. Ray reinforced all of the good habits in our dog to make our life much easier. Since then we did not need to retain our dog. Ray is our first choice whenever we need to leave our dog in trusted hands. Thank you Ray!
