Foundation K9 NWI

I’ve used Foundation K9 for five of my dogs over the last couple years. I trust Jim’s opinion, even when it is not what I want to hear. I do a lot of dog rescues and he has done wonders helping me give these dogs their confidence and thrive in our busy home. He helped me build an amazing relationship with a Malinois after she had been abused and that dog is now my best friend and I don’t leave home without her.

We brought our 7-month-old Boxer, Lupe, to Foundation K9 in January, and we are thrilled with her progress. Lupe has a fairly timid demeanor, and it’s been amazing to see her confidence grow. She went through the non-residency off leash program and has become much more assured and responsive since completing her training with Jim! This is our second dog trained at Foundation K9, and we really appreciate Jim’s ability to understand each dog’s need to meet them where they are while still striving for daily progress. Throughout the program, Jim shares the “why’s” behind the do’s and don’ts of training, provides actionable steps for owners, and is always happy to answer questions. Both Sharon and Jim are so helpful and communicative — the whole experience was fantastic. We highly recommend Foundation K9!

I can't say enough positive things about Foundation K9. I had my dog, Leroy enrolled in off leash training. It consisted of a couple all day training sessions a couple days a week for several weeks. Also 1 hour a week where my husband and I learned along with our dog. We also did a couple of off site training which we did at Home Depot. Jim, the owner and trainer provides you with all the tools and knowledge you need to keep the training going once the sessions are complete. Both Jim and his wife Sharon were wonderful to work with. I highly recommend Foundation K9 to anyone looking for a dog trainer.

I enrolled Moose, my 2 year old Mal x GSD, in the off-leash training for a month. We had just relocated to the US and the new environment made things challenging. Since Moose’s training, I’ve seen significant improvement—he’s much less reactive on walks, more focused on me, and calmer around other dogs. He’s also less jumpy and has much better manners with people. Jim also sent progress videos frequently; I looked forward to these in the mornings. Jim, Sharon and the rest of the team were amazing. They’re really caring and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable leaving my boy with them and I could tell Moose really enjoyed his stay/training.

Foundation K9 provided expert training for our St. Bernard puppy Winston. I appreciated their professionalism and knowledge. Winston came home much calmer and more polite. The commands he learned allow us to communicate to him in a way he understands. I think the training has also given him more confidence. Throughout his training we were provided regular updates and all of our questions were answered. Thanks again!
