Ivy finished her 4 week program. Faith was wonderful explaining, teaching, and showing me Ivy’s training. She was patient while guiding and encouraging me until I was fully comfortable with the process. Our off leash walk was so amazing. I got to see Ivy off leash and how happy she looked. I wasn’t hesitant when we got home to implement what both Ivy and I had learned. It is so heartwarming to see Ivy off leash, happy and playful. Our walks are now not centered on being tethered to a 6 foot leash. She finally has freedom to be herself. Ivy has improved so much. Even with her obedience. I cannot recommend the program enough. Thank you to all at J. Wells Kennels for all you do for Ivy. It is a blessing that we have found you. Your care, compassion, and training is unmatched. ❤️

We Strongly recommend J. Wells Kennels! Our GSP/Brit mix Maggie, was our first bird dog, and we had no clue where to get her trained. We knew we wanted to have her trained and we also knew that our goal was to have a great house pet, that would deliver some fun times in the field. We weren't looking for high level advanced show quality training experience. After some internet research we decided to take a shot with Jordan Wells and his family business, J. Wells Kennels. At 5 months old, we started Maggie off with their basic obedience training classes. We opted for a short two weeks of lead training and one session of intro to e-collar. Jordan handled that part himself. I was very impressed how well Maggie's mindset had changed so quickly. I also knew as an owner that her success would depend on my efforts to work on her progress at home. The next Spring (this past May 2024) just after her first birthday we enrolled Maggie into a 6-week bird dog foundation program. This was difficult as an owner to be away for so long, but they were great with updates and Facebook pictures to show us her progress. This time, a newly hired but well-known colleague of Jordan, Joe Lussier, handled the majority of the training. Joe was amazing, so upbeat and assuring of the system. During the go-home session at the end of the 6 weeks, Joe was very articulate on what she had learned, what her strengths were and where she still needed to develop. I learned a lot on how to read certain behaviors. I could have easily written a glowing review in June, just following her 6-week training program. But I wanted to see real results in the field, which meant I also needed to wait a few months and keep working with my girl. That time came this past weekend during the opening day of Pheasant Season in Mass. I can't believe how hard Maggie worked and how well she followed instructions. In the parking lot of the location, with a number of other dogs running around, despite her desire to run off and play, she listened to my commands and stayed at my heel (well, close enough, LOL). When the time came to find me birds she was awesome, her nose was great and she pointed like her daddy would want. The best part was that she followed through with the fetch and retrieve, the one area that she wasn't terribly strong at and we knew we had to work on. Thankfully, with the instruction and coaching from Joe when i took her home, I was able to support that training and continue to develop the mindset we needed her to have. We are so incredibly grateful for J. Wells Kennels and their friendly and supportive staff (Faith & Jamie), and of course their expertise. We could not be happier and can say that we strongly recommend them to anyone (not just birddog owners) for their K9 training needs.
