K9 Control Training

If you are looking for a trainer in the Charleston area look no further! We recently adopted a dog from a family that had put her through their training program prior to us adopting her. We contacted K9 Control to see what our options were for a refresh course so we could learn all of her commands correctly. The moment we contacted them, they were so accommodating and professional! If you complete a training program with them they include three follow up sessions to review anything that you may need more work. We meet Hannah at their facility on James Island and she reviewed everything with us, it was fantastic! Fast forward a few months, we were having trouble managing our new dog with our existing dog with sharing toys and overall learning to live with each other. I reached out to Joe, one of the Managing Partners, and he setup a time to talk through options and was very very helpful! We setup another refresh session in our home with Hannah, where she was able to help guide us the do and don'ts in our home. We have noticed a huge difference since this session, thank you to Hannah and Joe! Another bonus, they also offer board and train to any dogs that have gone through training programs with them, so you are able to board your dog while they also go through training with them too!

After returning from a trip to DC and having our whippet Phantom door dashing away from us twice, we needed help! You cannot imagine the relief in finding Hannah at K9. What an amazing stroke of luck for us! She personally owns whippets and has trained many! We signed up immediately! We now have a calmer, better mannered dog after training for 4 weeks. We had our 9 month old mini goldendoodle go through the training program at K9 Control Training. Before taking him, he would not come when called and did not listen to my husband or I. After training, he is a brand new puppy! He now heels on leash, can walk off leash, listens to commands and obeys hand signals as well, and knows when to play vs when to be calm. We could not thank K9 Control Training enough for the incredible work they did with our boy!

I am so thankful to Hannah and the K9 Control Charleston crew for setting Archie up for a happy and safe life! Archie is a male yellow lab with a traumatic past, lots of anxiety, and energy that I was fostering through a local rescue - Hannah worked diligently with him to help him cope with his anxiety and learn commands and most importantly - BOUNDARIES - to keep both of us safe when in public (and keep me sane at home 😜). The overall transformation in this dog from the hard work, patience, and dedication of the K9 Control staff, and especially Hannah, led to me officially adopting Archie. We are very happy together exploring all the Lowcountry has to offer 😎 a simple “thank you” does not describe my appreciation!
