Nate Dog Training

Called Nate because I had a 1.5 year old golden retriever that would bark and lunge at other dogs on walks. Nate is the REAL DEAL if you have a dog with a problem behavior. Anyone can teach your dog to sit, stay etc. But Nate really understands the psychology and behavior of canines to get to the source of the problem. Plus, he brings his own dogs who help illicit the bad behaviors in order to correct it as well as show my dog how secure and confident dogs should behave. We first went to a "puppy socialization and obedience" class to help with my dog's behaviors but after 6 weeks, it didn't help. In fact, we were told to just use a prong collar and to pull on his neck. After ONE session with Nate, we already saw improvement in my dog's behavior. So, don't fall for the generic "obedience" classes if you're having an issue with your dog. Go to the expert and that's Nate.

Nate was amazing. We just adopted a Great Pyrenees mix puppy. He was growing super fast and we wanted to get some training before he got out of control. We already had a nine year old German Shepard that was very protective. On our phone consultation it was like Nate had a camera in our house. He knew exactly what was going on and that we needed to train both dogs, not just the puppy. It’s not true that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Our senior dog has learned how to walk without pulling us down as well as the puppy. Meeting other dogs has become less stressful as well with both dogs. It is a work in progress and we need to keep up with the training but overall it was a life changer. Nate not only trained our dogs but trained us as well. Thank you Nate :)

We have a Great Dane, Thor, age 3 and a Boxer, Maxie, age 5. We wanted help with dog reactive behavior (wanting to play and over excited) and Nate came highly recommend. He not only helped at our house but had group and park sessions to have real life interactions. we learned how to change our behaviors to assist our dogs with their responses. He was fantastic, insightful and took every opportunity to tell us WHY we needed to look at the situation in a specific way. We could not be happier with the outcome, now it is our responsibility to keep practicing what we have learned. Thank you Nate!

Nate has been great working with our two rescued boys, Charlie and Hank (both 8 years old). Charlie is a feisty Pekingese who had some serious dog aggression issues when we rescued him when he was 2 years old. He then taught that aggression to our hound mix, Hank. They fight sometimes with each other and were very aggressive towards other dogs too. Nate has helped in teaching us how to react to their behaviors and things we can do at home to help set them up for a peaceful life together. We (and the dogs) are a work in progress but we are so happy to be able to take them on walks again! Nate is amazing with how he works with all of the dogs in group sessions, knowing each of their manurisms and quirks. Thank you Nate for helping us and our boys!

Upon first meeting Nate in my neighborhood I saw an immediate change in my mini poodle's behavior on the leash. Just a couple of tips and emphasis on her behavior and it was evident on what he was teaching was working. Him bringing his extremely well behaved dogs was quite an inspiration to what I believe my dog could become. My dog is very timid against bigger dogs so to see her playfully and willingly approach Nate's dogs speaks volumes on what he can do. We train our dog a lot and we believed we were struggling to get our poodle to behave but to see how far she actually was before Nate came into the picture and then to see how much his training enhanced her traits was inspiring. She's still a very young puppy so it's not perfect and she gets bursts of energy but Nate and his assistant believe our puppy could develop into a full fledged therapy dog which is amazing! We never would have thought our dog was doing so well without his help. Just a few short classes with Nate and our dog compared to first meeting him is the difference between night and day. We will continue to teach and socialize our puppy like we were taught. Thank you Nate!
