Question on Google
What is the difference between obedience training and trust-based training?

Obedience training focuses on making the dog comply with commands, often without addressing the root cause of behavioral issues. Trust-based dog training, on the other hand, looks at why a dog is acting a certain way and teaches them through communication, leadership, and relationship-building. This leads to lasting behavioral change instead of just quick fixes.

I would highly recommend at least doing an intro class with Alex! Our dog Henry is great in so many ways but there were a couple of areas where we thought he could improve. Just one hour with Alex really opened our eyes to so many things that we as dog owners could be doing even better. Totally worth it!

Our work with Alex and the Strong Bond team has been and continues to be profound. To really benefit from this work, you have to be willing to look inward and recognize how connected your dog’s behavior is to you and your pack's behavior. You’re committing to self-work and co-regulation together. Before working with Alex, I would say I was uncertain and insecure as a dog owner, and my dog reflected that back. The confidence, trust, and mutual respect that Alex helps foster between you and your dog will ripple out into the rest of your life. Our whole pack is more confident, compassionate, and curious thanks to Alex and the Strong Bond team. Beyond their training philosophy, they are reliable, professional, and punctual. We've felt very supported and this has been a great investment in our family. Thank y’all so much!

Alex at Strong Bond is such a wonderful trainer, and the foundation of his training style is really inspiring! From the moment I learned about their approach, my eyes have been really opened into how I’m interacting with my pup. It sounds silly, but it really is astonishing just how important trust is with your dog! I went from being nervous and unsure about whether or not my dog would be a good service dog prospect, to having such an amazing service dog in training! With Alex’s help, she’s becoming such a well-rounded pup. Every time my pup, Nasha, sees Alex, her eyes light up with so much excitement and she’s ready to learn! Such an amazing approach to training at Strong Bond, and absolutely worth every penny.
