What ages of dogs can you train at The Academy for Canine Behavior and Training?
We train dogs at any age, from young puppies to senior dogs. Private lessons are open to dogs of all ages, and we tailor each program to your dog’s age, breed, and individual behavior needs.
For our Board & Train program, dogs must be at least 4 months old. Beyond that, there is no dog too old for training — we work with adolescent, adult, and senior dogs every day.
If your dog needs early socialization, obedience, or a full behavior reset, we’ll help you choose the right program for their stage of life.

Our Board & Train programs start at $1,820 for basic training.
Pricing increases based on the level of training you choose. We also create custom programs when a dog requires additional time or specialized behavioral work.
We offer three core options:
Basic - 14-day program
Enhanced - 21-day program
Advanced - 28-day program
Every Board & Train includes:
Daily one-on-one training
Safe, structured boarding
On-leash and off-leash obedience depending on the program you choose
Behavior work for reactivity, fear, or aggression (if needed)
Owner training before going home
Free lifetime refresher classes every 1st and 3rd Saturday

Yes, we welcome puppies 4 months and older into our daycare program as long as they are appropriately vaccinated.
At this age, puppies are developmentally ready for structured socialization, clear boundaries, and calm play around other dogs. Our trained staff ensures a safe, supervised environment so young dogs build confidence and good habits from the start.

My wife and I sent our great Pyrenees mix for the basic 2-week training, and we were very pleased with what he (and we) have learned. Before the program, I would have said that he was untrainable, but afterwards, I think Bryan and his crew can train any dog. Asher now knows a full menu of commands, and we look forward to the rest of his life with us as a manageable and fun dog. We will also take advantage of the complimentary refresher courses. It was worth the investment.

Fantastic experience!! Bryan helped our dog Fletcher soooo much with his behaviors. Gone are the days of our dog pulling us everywhere while out for walk, jumping up on us and visitors and leaving scratches, and running out the door. Taking him for a walk is a great experience now - he can heel, sit, stay, place, and we have peace of mind that we will be able to take our dog places with us now and not worry about inappropriate behavior.

I would like to thank Nick and the staff for training my American Akita, Sasha. The staff kept me up to date on all of her progress and videoes. She is a different dog than before she went to the training facility. I had the opportunity to take her to Petco and she was well behaved and now I have my daughter on board and she knows the commands and can walk her around the stores. I recommend everyone that wants their dog trained see Nick and the staff at the Academy for Canine Behavior and training Group. Sasha was trained with the Basic + RCE.
