The Dog Wizard Charlotte

My chocolate lab, Bubba, and I started with puppy preschool. It was a great experience for both of us. We learned so much and set the foundation going forward. I then had him do the board and train during a time I went on vacation. He did so well and i looked forward to the updates they gave during the week. Alissa and the rest of the team did a great job and Bubba came back with a ton of new skills but also built upon the ones we had been working on since Puppy Preschool. He is having the time of his life when we go for our follow up lessons. I had him spend time in boarding while I was out of town on a work trip, the report card we get let me know how he was doing, same with the day he spent at day care. Everyone was great to work with and Bubba pops up in excitement when we are pulling in. I am so happy I made the decision to do my training with the Dog Wizard.

We have done the sleep away camp with two of our dogs now and couldn’t be happier. The first time we sent our rescue who is deaf, Loodwig. Prior to this, we couldn’t even figure out where to start, just getting his attention felt impossible. He worked with Kiki who put so much thought and effort into his unique needs and we picked up a happy, confident pup when his sleep away camp was done. A year later we rescued another dog, a Belgian malinois mix named Sevro. We were able to get pretty far with his training using what we learned from working with Loodwig but just knew he was so smart and would thrive at Dog Wizard while we were on vacation. We’ve learned so much about how to tap into his working breed drive and training with him and become so fun for all of us. We chose to work with Kiki again because she seemed to genuinely love and care about the pups but our interactions with everyone there have been positive and we love how everyone interacts with the dogs and helps each other out. We would absolutely recommend dog wizard and have had an amazing experience with both our dogs who have very different needs.

We had two of our family dogs use the Dog Wizard for training and Boarding . The training side was simply amazing while one of our dogs was injured two times boarding when dropping them off we had the best experience. But now I would have to be honest and say picking them up was not sadly the short hair young lady acted as if she was aggravated by us asking questions and asking why a second time. We did end up getting our questions answered by our amazing trainer days later and the only other negative thing we notice was both of our dogs were more concerned about getting water than seeing us another issue our trainer explained to us.

If there's anything I can impart/tldr it's this: THEY ARE WORTH IT. They are the best!! I have two border collie puppies two months apart in age: keep this in mind. I received services for Puppy Preschool, Doggy Daycare, and private (Freedom) lessons. I can't stress enough how much I am grateful for The Dog Wizard and I recommend them above EVERYONE in Charlotte. These guys are the best of the best. Starting with my first puppy, puppy preschool was invaluable in not only starting with the best foot forward in socializing with other people and dogs, but setting foundational work for me as an owner. My first girl is outgoing and her extroversion has been directly shaped by her experiences in puppy preschool, where trainers maintained a safe, healthy environment for pets and parents while administering structured lessons that are invaluable outside of the classroom. I was very pleased with how my puppy and I enjoyed her first six months in preschool before she aged out. My second puppy is completely different and this is where puppy preschool and training have been outstanding in comparison. My second girl is incredibly shy and on her first day of preschool was so nervous she couldn't let anyone near her and we spent the class watching the others while a trainer worked with us one-on-one directly to name the behaviors my puppy was struggling with and plans to ensure her thriving in the class. Each week the trainers approached with constant reassurance that we were going in the right direction with actionable lessons and teaching that was very important for me--I realized I didn't know as much as I thought I did, especially with a border collie puppy who is introverted. The trainers here jumped on the differences between my two girls and tailored their lessons to each puppy individually to best help me create confident, strong young girls. After puppy preschool came the terrible teens, and Danielle reached out (thank you, Danielle!) to inquire about us trying their individual/private lesson program, Freedom training. The cost was a little stiff for me personally, but the program provided six months' worth of lessons for both of my girls. I want to stress that I'm not made of money but this has been an investment I would pay for over and over again. My girls have been working with Jaime for training and I've been seeing leaps and bounds in improvements regarding obedience, behavioral issues, and truly understanding how best to parent my two border collies while setting them up for success. The Dog Wizard has been critical in how I've learned to train my girls from puppyhood to adults and not only are their trainers skilled and highly knowledgeable, the environment, payment plans, and everything have been tailored to my needs and have been so graceful with every challenge I've come upon with my needs. I'm still working in private lessons with my two border collies and I've had issues from sock chewing to off-leash training addressed and tackled in a way that helps me learn to learn with my girls. These trainers are highly skilled and know what they're doing. They understand me, my girls, and every lesson I learn something new. Not only that, I learn outside of lessons and I've become a stronger and better owner because of the team. I'm so grateful for The Dog Wizard. Thank you guys, really. We're (Evie, Pippa, and I) going to be utilizing the skills we've learned from the team for our lifetimes.
