Up A Level K9

As someone who has used other training programs in other cities - I will only be using Up A Level K9 in the future. The puppy imprinting program was an absolute game changer and have learned that us puppy parents should not wait! It’s never too early to begin training. Karen and the team treat all the dogs with such care and a high attention to detail. Will now be sending both my puppy and my seven year old pug to the three week training program. I’ve never trusted anyone with my 7 year old pug as he has significant separation anxiety and some trauma - but I am truly comfortable with Karen and her team.

If you are on the fence about getting training for your dog with Karen, do it. We adopted a 1 year old German Shepherd from the Humane Society earlier this year after losing our 12 year old Shepherd. We knew Lotte was a great dog because she was extremely sweet and loving with people and kids. We were told she barked at the other dogs in the Humane Society kennel, but figured it was just because she was in a new, high-stress environment. Needless to say, we had high hopes when bringing her home; however, within two days of having her I knew we were in over our heads. She was extremely reactive to other dogs - lunging and barking her head off at a dog walking across the street. She would also try to flee as soon as the door opened. She had me chasing her down the street in a frenzy on day 3 of having her. She had severe separation anxiety - she destroyed a metal crate and left our mudroom doors a complete mess. She was stubborn and smart (not the best combo). And lastly, she did NOT get along with our cat. I was in panic mode because our family life was suffering. I did some research and came across Karen at Up a Level K9 and decided to give her a call based on her glowing reviews. She was extremely understanding and receptive and I knew she was the person we needed. I was nervous going into it because her 3 week program seemed expensive at the time and I didn’t know if it would work with our dog. But, you get what you pay for and I would do it a thousand times over to get the results we have seen. Karen’s facility is immaculate and you can see how much she loves what she does. She spent so much time working with my husband and I to make sure we knew how to work with Lotte throughout her training. Lotte has been home for about a month and our lives have been completely changed. She is a happy, confident dog now who still has all of her spunk but knows when to listen (and actually seems to like it). She can go out of the house without a leash. She has had play-dates with other dogs, including having my in-laws dog stay in the house with us. She has become BEST friends with our cat. She is content to go into her kennel when we leave the house. The list could go on and on. I knew we had a gem of a dog when we got Lotte, we just needed help bringing out the best in her and Karen did that for us. We will forever be grateful to her, and her fellow trainers.
