When we got our girl we had no idea what we got ourselves into or if we were even equipped to handle this.. after one phone call with Stephen we felt a weight being lifted off our shoulders! Stephen not only gave us peace of mind that everything will be okay, he also gave us so many tools to use to get our girl where she needs to be so she can live her life to the fullest. He’s training us in the process! Before we started she was completely out of control, she was completely unmanageable.. she’s now a completely different dog! Stephen and Very Good Dog Training far exceeded our expectations with our 5 month old puppy, Portia. Before training, Portia was a maniac constantly jumping and biting us and our 3 and 6 year old kids. When people came over, she was never able to reach the point of calm and would bite them and their clothing non stop. Eating and chewing everything in sight. We were unsuccessful with crate training and she was unable to be left alone without incessant barking, including at night. Stephen not only transformed these behaviors, but did an amazing job training us as well on exactly how to maintain her behavior once she came home. I was so worried once she came home that she might revert back, especially since we have 2 young children running around creating constant triggers for her. Not only did she come home prepared for these triggers, but we were given the tools and support to ensure her success. The support from Stephen since we have been home has continued so anything that comes up he immediately shares effective solutions. It really works. Very Good Dog Training is so simple that it's very easy to learn their methods and carry on independently. It took my 6 year old only a couple of days to get the commands down and begin using them effectively himself. Talk about empowering. Thanks to Very Good Dog Training Portia is now the calmest member of our household! She is happy in her crate anytime whether we are near her or at night. Walks with her are a dream, even with the littles circling around her on their bikes. We can take her anywhere and have even been able to have her off leash already as she's been doing fantastic with her recall. I cannot recommend this training enough! I'm so grateful we made the investment, it's truly changed our lives.

My 8 month old american bully Huncho was absolutely insane, jumping off the walls, barking at everything (even at 4AM), never knowing when or how to stop. With the help of Stephen at VGDT, Huncho is able to finally go on quiet walks while heeling by my side, listen immediately on command, and we are able to sleep peacefully at night. Stephen, with Very Good Dog Training, took the time to listen to our concerns and helped correct behavioral issues with our 2 year old German Shepard. We have a multi-dog household and needed to build comfortable and controlled environment. Stephen was able to train our German Shepard and her humans to build structure within our home. We are working on reintroducing known triggers and developing boundaries so all of our dogs are aware of who controls the environment.
