Well Balanced Dog Training

we rescued a pup last summer, our second dog, second rescue. We realized very quickly that our new dog had really been through something before we got her- though having no idea what... we just assumed she needed time to decompress and everything else would fall into place. She was "well-behaved," crate trained and the MOST LOVABLE little girl ever! A few months into her time with us, we brought her to her initial vet appointment and started to understand just how severe the situation was.... she wouldn't leave our house, not even for walks, and was still frightened going out into our fenced in back yard- she was having more and more accidents inside... the vet brought up anxiety meds and I knew we had to change the course for our sweet girl- thank goodness we found Meaghen and all of the other wonderful caring dog lovers at Well Balanced Dog Training- they took our sweet little lola under their wing and gave her a second chance at life....only a few months into training and she runs to the door awaiting her morning walk shaking and smiling so excited to get out there! Just the other day my husband who was out walking both dogs texted me "lola just pooped on our walk for the first time!!!!!"- ahhh the little things :) thank you SO MUCH Well Balanced Dog Training! Meaghen and all the staff at Well Balanced Dog Training are caring and well educated on working with reactive dogs and their anxious families. My pup has made tremendous progress at home after attending the board and train program and during her time learn and play group. Sending your fur baby to a board and train is hard but everyone at Well Balanced makes you feel comfortable and ensures your pets safety in the training process. I can't thank you enough! Moose is finally enjoying her time at home and in the community without so much stress, anxiety and fear. My only regret is that I didn't send her sooner.

Learn and play group wasn’t it for our pup. Beware of what you’re getting. I learned only after sign up (my fault for not asking more questions) that unfortunately from drop off around 7:15AM to when I picked him up around 4:30PM, he only had a total of 1-2 hours of play and two brief walks (sometimes one if the weather was yucky). The rest of the time the dogs were crated. Ours came home with wild excitement most days from being crated all day. This seemed significant, especially given the price tag for the day was much more than many other local options.

We have brought both of our pups to Well Balanced Dog Training, specifically for our Deaf puppy and getting our older one to get accustomed. We learned a variety of skills from the trainers, including how to use an electric collar appropriately, putting her in place for her behavior adjustments, and interacting with other dogs and people. We’ve also utilized Learn and Play group, and it was fantastic! Our dogs are so much better behaved, and we are looking forward to more in the future, including boarding services.
